Another YouTube video from Juliet Cleave in Cornwall. A new calf never ceases to amaze and it’s particularly rewarding when you “save” one….as Juliet’s husband Chris does here.
There are not two more rock-solid people on the planet than the Cleaves. How solid? We were all going to dinner one night (9 of us) when Chris had to be rushed to the hospital with chest pains, an apparent heart attack.
Three hours later, at Chris’ insistence, Juliet left the hospital, entertained her guests at a restaurant, and picked up the check! (again at Chris’ insistence)
A year later, it was Juliet’s turn to be hospitalized with a very serious illness. The Cleaves forged on, not only without complaint, but with great cheeriness. Our other partners in Traditional Devon over there have also triumphed over unbelievable advertisity. The experiences of the Rowes and the Drakes would have crushed most people.
And that’s why Wooz and I keep returning to southwest England and Cornwall in particular. It’s all that’s left of a grand race of people. On several continents.
Get real Mike (may I call you Mike?) Fainting? Not in this lifetime! Crucial moment omitted from sequence as Chris didn’t know I was filming (need to keep it ‘real’) and I needed to assist (did you hear “have you got the ropes”?) I keep these under lock and key in case he can’t take any more mother-in-law… the worrying thing is that they say one should look at the mother long and hard before marrying to the daughter!

The most important part they left out!
David
My understanding is that Chris fainted and Juliet had to put down the camera and pull the calf herself!

I do not know if you are serious?

Joking, Mike.
