More on that raw milk trial….
….a few weeks back we reported on a trial in Wisconsin of an Amish farmer who was charged with selling raw milk off his farm to about 200 customers. He’d been subjected to middle-of-the-night raids and the whole swat team tactic. In a stunning setback to Big Ag and The State, the jury found him innocent of all but a technical charge.
That one conviction, however, could have been enough to send him to jail for a year and we felt was, in light of all the facts, a horrible miscarriage of justice.
Well, turns out some of the jurors read press coverage of the case following the trial and discovered our government had conveniently left out important information in its prosecution. The jurors protested, the judge heard them, and fined the farmer the minimum. We trust an appeals process will finally wipe the record clean. Here’s the link:
Many of my friends think I can be too extreme…conspiratorial…in some of these posts about the dangers of the Unholy Alliance between Big Ag and Big Guv. But from the IRS to the Food Police, this government is out of control!
There, I’ve said it.

Agreed. I have the State of Indiana after me for my dam which I built in the late 80’s, been filled since 1989. So far I have spent $26,000 on engineering fees to prove that the dam passes all their tests but one. I designed it to handle the 100 year flood of 4.2″ of rain in a six hour period-it does it by a factor of 3. But now I must pass 27.2″ of rain in a six hour period, and whether the dam is there or not, the people downstream will be flooded.
I will now have to build another spillway and a 6′ high concrete floodwall on top of the dam, for an event that will never happen, and if by very remote chance it does happen, my dam being there or not will have no effect on the outcome of 27.2″ of rain. These people are totally detached from logic and just enjoy power over your lives and prosperity.
